The Green Fins Dive Guide e-Course will provide you with the skills and confidence to conduct more environmentally friendly diving trips.

The Green Fins initiative aims to protect and conserve coral reefs through environmentally friendly guidelines that promote a sustainable diving and snorkeling industry.

Green Fins is coordinated internationally by The Reef-World Foundation in partnership with the UN Environment.

Become a Green Fins dive guide

As a dive professional leading and guiding scuba divers, you have the ability to positively influence diver behavior and help protect coral and other marine life on every dive. If you can manage your divers and prevent them from causing damage, then you are helping protect coral reefs, one dive, at a time.

The Green Fins Dive Guide e-Course

This course will build on your existing scuba diving knowledge by providing you with the skills and confidence to conduct more environmentally friendly diving trips. It has one simple goal: to reduce the negative impacts of scuba diving on the underwater environment.

In this e-learning course you will:

Learn basic background to this course, coral reefs, and the Green Fins initiative.

Learn tips and advice concerning best practice above water and in the boat.

Learn what you can do below water and how to manage yourself and your divers.

Responsible Diving System for responible reef use Corales de Paz believes that there are three distinct components for creating a snorkeling and diving industry that has a net positive environmental impact. The three components are knowledge, skills, and behavior, and together form the Corales de Paz Responsible Diving System which helps you ensure that you always put more than what you take from coral reefs.

A reef user like you, (e.g. beachgoer, snorkeler or diver) must have a proper foundation of knowledge to understand how coral reefs function, and their strong connection with humans, to be aware of the impact you are causing to coral reefs. Practical training offers you the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to measure and reduce the impact caused on coral reefs

The Green Fins Dive Guide e-Course course is our entry-level in our Meaningful Diving Universe, a group of courses and training we believe provide important knowledge and skills for ocean lovers and reef users like you to actively engage in building coral reef resilience.
